Few myths and assumptions in our collective consciousness are as ambiguous and puzzling as the ones on aging. We spent time, money and energy to extend our time on earth. The message: Getting older is a good thing. And we spend equal amounts of time, money and energy to turn back time. The message: Getting Old is not such a good thing.

Anyone born anytime in the 20th century has been imprinted by the message of the old paradigm. As transitionists between the old and new; we have been challenging the old myths of every kind from the time we were babies. We are doing it more and more with aging.

It requires moving beyond a rant about the outer messages (seeking insight, we don’t continually criticize the blind.) It takes honesty, humor and compassion to examine your own myths and then discard the things you don’t really believe or choose. The reward is living your own life, creatively, on your own terms…all of your life. That is one of our goals of this intensive.

It is time that we no longer look wistfully at cultures who have celebrated and honored their elders and assume our own will never change. It is changing. We are part of that change.

Our worlds, personal and planetary are whirling with change. Life is coming at all of us in a blurring pace. It is important and intense turning with many challenges as well as unequalled opportunities for creative expansion.

Increasingly we are called to tie up loose karmic threads, increase the integration of our spiritual knowing with our physical lives, seek and be peace and simplify. It is a time of reassessing our centering tools, all of which are reinforced in a gathering of people with shared intention. This intensive is dedicated to those purposes. The program includes scheduled classes, mediations, exercise, shared time alone to walk on the beautiful wooded pathways during a NC Autumn – always spectacular.

The St. Francis Spring Prayer Center built in 2005 is located in a beautiful setting, offers comfortable rooms and delicious, healthy food, all of which combine to create a nourishing environment for our time together.

During this day we’ll look at some of the real dynamics behind this major evolutionary shift that is literally affecting every aspect of life on earth. From ancient prophets to modern physics, from astrology to astronomy, major change is the message.

While we actually have no recorded history or cognitive knowledge about what a 26,000 year change might bring. But we chose to be here now, so this is out time, our decisions, our privilege, our opportunity.

First we have to cope and yes, (”survive” at all levels) and be creative with the changes. We’ll explore some ways to align with and support the emerging vision while keeping our balance in the dissolution of the old.

What to keep and what to let go? It truly is a time of choosing and no one is exempt.
